Gossie

If you haven't read the 'Gossie' series roughly 100,000 times you might not recognize the significance of the outfit Amelia assembled today as I was switching out summer and winter clothes. For the uninitiated, "Gossie is a gosling, a small yellow gosling, who likes to wear bright red boots. Everyday."

Here we have Amelia wearing Ava's hand-me-down little duck sweater (knitted by Grandma Jo) which of course she thinks is Gossie. It's a white duck, not a yellow gosling, but that's fine. Naturally blue and pink leggings are in order. But you have never seen a more excited little girl than when the bright red boots came out of the box of Ava's old clothes.

My aunt Sally and my Grandma Jane bought Ava the Gossie series of books over several Christmases and birthdays.... For one of those holidays, these boots. Ava liked them, but I'm not sure we'll ever get them off Amelia.
