This week the Iowa General Assembly came back to town and with it comes a new routine for me (and therefore my family) for the next 4-5 months. Even though my professional life has largely involved working in and around the legislative session, each year it is a transition. So the blogging has been a little light, but activities continue!
Following Ava's haircut, Amelia had one of her own a few days later. Ashely styled Amelia's hair with a decidedly 70's vibe and she loved it!
Ava had her culminating event on germs, cold and flu. Because of the legislative season I wasn't able to attend, but John sent me this photo of the VERY detailed poster on bacteria and a very proud Ava.....
Eleven years ago when we moved into this house we painted our room, bathroom and hallway a color I picked out and didn't like from the moment it went on the walls. Let this be a lesson! If you don't like it when it is going on the walls, you won't like for the 11 years it takes you to do something about it! For the past couple of weeks Meghan has been systematically painting our upstairs and doing an awesome job of it! Of course there is an area above the stairs that is nearly impossible to reach, so she called in a little help from her dad. This is the view yesterday morning - kind of scary!
No less scary when viewed from the top of the stairs!
