Turning the Page

We finished up a really nice winter break with a trip to Minnesota to see our families.  We stayed with the Minnesota Moorlachs, spent some time with my family and it felt like three days went by in a flash. I need to get back into the habit of pulling my camera out - even my camera phone, to capture these days that pass so quickly. These are the only pictures I took of our whole trip in Minnesota!

On our last day in town at Amelia's INSISTENCE we went ice skating.  Several years ago we  went ice skating on a trip to Minnesota.  Back then, Amelia was too little to participate and had it in her head that this was her time. She did great on the skates, with the assistance of the pusher -she was fast and fierce and frankly scared me to death….

Ava was so very coltish out there with her long legs and her mom's cautious nature….

My girls….

Back home, settled in, un-packed, laundry done, a few days of school under our belts, but we are missing our winter break.  This new year brings a new job for me with all the transition that entails.  We turn the page on the calendar and talk about the things we want to do, the things we are looking forward to… This cold weather has me longing for warm sun and sand… maybe during the girls February break? Grandma's marathon for me, the Sioux Falls marathon for John, the end of elementary school for Ava, a One Direction concert…. 2014 has the makings of a really good year.

It makes Orbit a little bit sleepy to think about it….
