Thursday night, June 12th was the dress rehearsal. John drew the straw on that one, spending nearly four hours watching various groups practice before Ava was finally done. John then took Ava to Zen Noodle Bar for a fancy dinner in her fancy dance costume. Naturally I was worried how on Earth we would clean the costume if she spilled dinner on it. (A worry, by the way, that turned out to be baseless as Ava and John were both very careful.)
Sunday was the recital and it was quite a show. You've never seen a more excited ballerina. Ava's grandparents, Papa Ray, Grandma Jo and Grandma Marilyn came to see the performance and showered her with flowers.
With Grandma Marilyn, Grandma Jo and Papa Ray:
After all the excitement of the day our little Dancing Queen just couldn't hold on any longer.
Lessons start again the middle of August.

We love it! So happy that you decided to start a blog.
MY SIL in CO told me she knows of a company that turns blogs into hardcover books after a certain period of time...your family scrapbook in the making!
How cool! I love blogs and will add yours to my blog reader.
Fun to see the photos - Ava's first dance recital appears to have been wonderful on all counts. And Amelia looks darling with her spiffy haircut.
It will be fun to read your postings! -Janet
