Tonight was Beggar's Night, that uniquely Iowa phenomenon that sends kids door to door the night before Halloween for reasons that I am certain are vaguely paranoid. The kids were sky-high with anticipation, especially Ava. It was a beautiful night and the kids burned off some energy and donned some cowboy hats in preparation for trick or treat time.

We paid a quick visit to Grandma Jane and the rest of the night passed in a sugar induced haze. We've closed up shop, started bathtime and packed up the leftover candy to share with our colleagues at the office tomorrow.
