Well Baby

Amelia is shedding babyhood in big chunks lately. While babies have an undeniable sweetness in their brand-new squishiness and squeaky baby noises, I love meeting this little girl who shows up in new ways each day. She is increasingly verbal adding new words daily and her preferences and quirks are becoming more apparent.

Amelia's favorite food, by far, is bananas. She also likes apple sauce, cheese and noodles.  She doesn't care much for rice or tortillas...

She is thirsty all the time.... juice, milk, water... she probably consumes more liquid than Ava.  

Amelia refuses to wear her shoes or socks in the car.

When she's tired or upset she rubs her blanket on her feet, between her toes. She often touches things with her toes - dried leaves, rocks, toys...

Amelia is very observant (ahem, nosy).  At mealtimes she takes note of everyone's plate to be sure we are all eating the same thing. She mimics words, actions, expressions - especially of her older sister. 

Today was Amelia's 18 month well child visit and she is doing great.  Dr. Williams pronounced her small, but mighty, at 31 1/4 inches tall (50th percentile) and 22.8 pounds (20th percentile). He said she is doing fantastic on both her physical and verbal development and is most certainly among the cutest kids he'd ever seen.
