So very Mimi

Amelia has decided that she would like to participate in dance class this year instead of tumbling. This decision was made in the Spring, so the anticipation around the start of dance class has been building (and building) and building all summer. We've talked about it. A lot. She is, of course, taking classes from the same instructor Ava has been for the past four years so naturally Ava has been giving a lot of guidance.

This morning, finally, the day had arrived. Amelia donned her brand new dance clothes (because none of Ava's old ones fit her) and we set off for class. Her instructor, Richard, asked that we stay and watch on the first day. Surprising to me that Amelia was far from the most shy student in the class. She participated willingly, enthusiastically while other little girls sat on their mother's laps and watched.

Her dancing was hilarious. She is a fairly athletic little girl, so she took to it pretty well. At times there was actual dancing going on. It may not have been what was being instructed, but oh, there was dancing.
