Appleseed

Saturday John turned 50 and boy does he make 50 look good.  And young.  To celebrate his birthday all he wanted was a family dinner.  But not just any family dinner - family dinner where everyone dressed up.  John's family nickname is Johnny Appleseed. So based on his love of apples and this beautiful Fall season we planned an apple dinner.

On the menu - Pork Loin stuffed with Apple-Pecan stuffing and a cider reduction, Apple Risotto and Cider Vinegar glazed roasted vegetables all from this cookbook....

Amelia waits for dinner....

Bill, Annie and Papa Ray.....

The Grandmas and the little girls (with a little photo bomb from Lane).....

Lane and Ava (with a little photo bomb from Grandma Marilyn).....

John slicing the pork, Orbit hoping for a taste.... (Whew, look at that kitchen!)

Happy Birthday to John, who celebrated with apple crisp for dessert because he isn't the biggest fan of cake.  A wonderful husband, a loving father, a true and generous friend.

** Because it was apparently too much to cook, drink wine, enjoy the company of our family AND take pictures -  all of these photos came from Meghan, who managed to avoid being photographed herself!  Thanks Meghan for the pics - next time we'll do better to get you in the shot!!
