On April Fools day we managed to double book ourselves with kids activities. Ava had her long awaited Seussical performance at school, Amelia, not as much fun at her four year old well child check. John and I divided and conquered. He took the well child visit (and it's requisite 4 vaccinations) and I got to watch the Seussical with Papa Ray and Grandma Jo.
Ava was so excited (and a little nervous) to perform the show. They had been practicing for almost two months. They did two dress rehearsals of the show in front of other class rooms. She confided that she had a little bit of stage fright. Naturally the kids did a fantastic job... Her school does not have music, gym or art teachers - instead their teachers integrate these activities into their day to day learning. I am always so impressed by their creativity.
Here's a proud Ava, beaming with her present fish, a prop from the Seussical...

The You Tube Video (shot by a Downtown School Parent) of the performance. It's nearly 12 minutes long so click with caution, but it is still very sweet....
Amelia had her 4 year old well child check where it is confirmed that she is indeed very well. She is 39 7/8 inches tall (all the way up to the 50%) and 32 pounds (in the 30%). She is healthy, robust and now, fully vaccinated for awhile.
Here she is with Judy, who's been the girls nurse at the pediatrician's office from the very beginning.... This is, of course, pre-shots!
