This summer we updated the little girls rooms with some new furniture from IKEA - remember? I could go on and on (and on) about the difference it has made to have enough space for them to put their things away. Their rooms are pretty small and getting rid of things and having enough storage space has been a huge improvement. They are spending time in their rooms more, they are able to put away their own clothes and tidy things up because everything has a place. Don't get me wrong, there is still plenty of little girl clutter, but it is better. Much, much better.
Ava has grown up a lot this year - she's physically taller, but the pre-teens are knocking on our front door. She's a delightful person - happy, well mannered, clever, stubborn. She's also more focused and more mature, ready to test her independence a little bit. She also has a big pre-teen crush on the boy band One Direction, specifically Harry. (See - Mall of America) The One Direction documentary, "This is Us" opened this weekend. (Yes, we went Friday night....) My brother Jay works at the movie theater and town. With an assist from my brother Marc they managed to secure the promotional poster for the movie for their niece. She was practically speechless when Marc gave it to her yesterday. It is so big there's only one wall in her room it will fit on, so John did some re-docrating this morning.

Yep...couldn't get more pre-teen than that! She'll never forget getting that poster!
