Keeping it Real

Sometimes (maybe all the time) it feels like we just bite off more than we can chew. For quite awhile I have been feeling frustrated by the storage in our girls bedrooms. They both have the same dressers they had when they were babies, except their clothing and all the STUFF is much, much bigger. It makes it hard for me to put away their clean clothes.  It makes it hard for them to find things.  And don't get me started on all the junk that clutters up their rooms.

When we were on our way home from Duluth we made a quick stop by IKEA to try to rectify the situation. Mostly because I think John was tired of hearing me complain about it.  And so far this alleged solution has actually created a bigger hassle than the problem we were trying to solve.  I know once we get everything done and sorted through it will be much, much better.  But really folks, right now it is much, much worse.  What I need is an actual weekend at home to knock this out.  In the meantime....

The start of the first dresser in the middle of our front room....

This pile sat on our living room floor for two days.  What could possibly go wrong?  Nothing except Orbit really liked the wood joiners and chewed up at least two of them....

John got Ava's dresser put together - doesn't it look great?  Pay no attention to that huge pile of stuff on the floor that I have no energy to sort and put away.  (Too busy blogging...)

We also got new light fixtures for the girls rooms - Papa Ray did the electrical work, John did the assembly, but the cord hangs down practically to the floor.  The current solution is blue painters tape.  Nice....

Where should we put Ava's old dresser?  By the front door is as good a place as any....

Order will be restored.  Order will be restored. Order will be restored.
