One of the challenges of vacationing was, frankly, juggling Amelia. The consequences of blowing her through naptime are reigned down on the rest of us, she is fearless even in situations where fear would be appropriate. We did a lot of dividing activities so one of us could be with Amelia either for naptime or to allow for things, like canoeing, that are not terribly well suited to our two year old.
On this trip there were two visits to the Temperance River State Park, one with and one without Amelia. Ava loved the first trip so much she wanted to show me and Amelia her special spot. The photos below are a combination of both visits....
Ava and John - dipping their toes in the lake - Ava apparently impervious to the cold water!
Sand between the toes....
Me with the girls....
Amelia climbing the rocks....
One of Ava's favorite things about this vacation was 'bouldering.' We are, perhaps, taking a generous view of the definition of bouldering, but Ava was confident and strong climbing and jumping on the rock groupings we came across at this park and others.
Meghan taking pictures... or is she checking her email? :)
