For the entire week of our vacation we had unbelievable good fortune when it came to the weather. The first few days we were there it was quite warm, but sunny. A small rain storm came through around dinnertime one evening (after we'd cleared off the beach) and the temps cooled into the low 80's, still sunny for the rest of the week. Not a single rainy day, not a single day that we didn't get to go to the beach. And not a single day that it didn't feel perfect to be there.
From the start Ava was pretty comfortable in the ocean. In fact, on our first trip there she went charging in, got knocked down by a wave, popped right back up and said, "this is just like what I thought it would be." True to form, Amelia was a bit more cautious, but as the week went on she grew increasingly more comfortable.
The beach babies....

Ava, the happiest vacationer of them all....

A favorite pass time was getting buried in the sand...
Meghan and I preferred to bring our chairs to the water line and enjoy the breeze, the ocean and the people watching.... (Most favorite subjects - tattoo choices, followed closely by bathing suit choices.)
Something about being at the beach means you have to dig in the sand, right? The tireless Grandma Marilyn fetched bucket after bucket of water to assist in the process.
Amelia - collecting sand....
Brave girls, made more brave by the presence of dad, enjoying the waves...
