1880 Train

After our trip to Mount Rushmore we headed into the town of Keystone to ride the 1880 Train, a steam train that takes you on a (slow) trip from Keystone to Hill City and back again. We had some time to kill before our scheduled departure so we wandered into a restaurant near the train station in the hopes of grabbing a quick snack and maybe a nice glass of wine.

Instead I was again left to lament the fact that there tends to be no decent wine to be found in the Black Hills.....

But we snacked and then caught the train to Hill City and back again. My people in front of the steam engine....

Talk about a full day! Somehow the girls had energy to spare.  They hit the pool for awhile, then out to the hotel patio for some s'mores with some friends they found while they were swimming.  They are loving vacation!

I just read through all your vacation posts and it looks like you are having a great time, despite the crazy heat! The girls (and the adults, too) will have such fond family memories.
