So Thursday morning, off we went on our 2012 summer vacation to South Dakota. Our trip starts with a couple of days on the East side of the Missouri River in South Dakota. Here John snapped a picture of me behind the wheel, heading up Highway 29.....
Our first leg was a stop to meet Grandma Marilyn for a walking tour of Valley Springs, John's childhood home. Here Lane, Ava, Amelia and Grandma Marilyn pose for photo on the playground of John's elementary school....
We set some very important goals for this trip, one being ICE CREAM EVERYDAY! So we stopped at the Pump House in Valley Springs for beverages/ice cream on a 100 degree day!

We drove to the state line of South Dakota/Minnesota where the gang straddled the line with one foot in each state.....
Lane! Is! Home! And he is taking very good care of his little sisters. Here with Amelia at Scott Peterson's house in Brandon, where we BBQ'ed and caught up with some friend's of John's from high school.
